Jane and Bruce Ash of Tucson have announced a commitment to fund an annual scholarship for exceptional Native American, Latino and African American students at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH).  The scholarship will focus on students who have demonstrated a desire to work in underserved communities in Arizona after graduation.

Bruce and Jane Ash are shown in the photo on the right.

As life-long Arizonans the Ash family is committed to rural health care and assistance to underserved local communities.  It is their hope that the students they assist at the University of Arizona will be the future leaders in health care who will reach out across the state to enhance healthy living and the prevention of disease.

Jane Ash (formerly Jane Moret) graduated with a BA in history from the University of Arizona in 1975.  Bruce Ash also graduated from UA in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate and Finance.  They have two adult sons.

Mr. Ash is a native of Tucson and is currently the President and CEO of Paul Ash Management Company, LLC, a successful real estate management and acquisition firm.  He is very active in the Tucson community and serves on the board of the Bank of Tucson and was recently elected as the Republican National Committeeman for Arizona.  He also served as President of Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging and as President of Council House Incorporated and has been on several other boards including the United Way of Tucson, and the Carondelet Foundation.

At the UA Zuckerman College of Public Health, Mr. Ash is a benefactor and serves on the Community Advisory Board, which supports the College's vision of disease prevention and health promotion throughout Arizona and the Southwest by supporting community collaboration, fundraising and advocacy activities.
