Our shared values
-
National Defense – We must take the fight to those who use terror to target
Americans and teach a twisted, intolerant version of radical Islam.
The advancement of freedom and liberty in Iraq and Afghanistan is directly
linked to our security at home, and in this mission we cannot afford to fail
or play politics with the issues.
-
Homeland Security – We risk the loss of our national sovereignty or
security due to poor enforcement at our borders and ports of entry. The
first step towards solving the problems associated with illegal
immigration is to provide for improved border security and increased
interior enforcement. We should enforce existing laws and develop a
national strategy that takes into account the labor force America requires
in the 21st century to grow our economy without granting amnesty to those
who have broken federal law.
-
Protection of Life – I am pro life & I support government policies that
protect the sanctity of every life. I encourage the appointment of
judges who will rule in favor of life choices. I strongly support
legislation requiring parental consent for minors, abstinence training for
school age children & increased emphasis on adoption. I oppose
government funding of abortion services, stem cell research as well as
state sponsored euthanasia.
-
Promoting Enterprise – The absolute greatest impediment to profitable
business is over-regulation. Businesses can't contribute to our
economy if they are continually strapped by paperwork, tax burdens and
unneeded regulation. It is possible for our nation to grow our
way out of a deficit if we encourage businesses to flourish and prosper.
It is the private sector that creates jobs in America. Cutting taxes
on investment will lead to more investors and more jobs. Putting
more money in the hands of small-business owners means putting more people
back to work.
-
Access to Quality Healthcare – I support access to quality healthcare,
medical liability reform and reducing the ranks of the uninsured without
the creation of new Government programs. Medicare must evolve into
the 21st Century and provide more choices and better benefits to its
beneficiaries without higher costs to taxpayers. We must allow small
business the ability to group together to pool their resources and provide
quality coverage for their employees.
-
Second Amendment Rights – As a responsible firearm owner, and a Life
Member of the NRA, I firmly believe that American citizens have the
constitutional right to keep and bear arms and that rigth must be defended
and protected.
-
Size
of Government – We must return to our traditional GOP values and reduce
the size of the federal government, cut wasteful spending and the
Congressional pork-barrel earmarks, encourage competitive outsourcing for
government contracts, run our bureaucracies in a corporate fashion and
stretch the value of our taxpayer dollars.
